The sales follow-up checklist.
A practical routine for calls, messages and customer visits. Use it with KroLead, another CRM or your current lead list.
Before reaching out
- Check the lead’s name, company and preferred contact channel.
- Read the last note and open questions.
- Confirm the opportunity owner to avoid duplicate outreach.
- Decide what this conversation needs to achieve.
During the conversation
- Confirm the customer’s current requirement.
- Ask what still needs to be decided.
- Agree on a specific next action and a reasonable time.
- Confirm who will take that action.
Immediately afterwards
- Write a short outcome note using facts from the conversation.
- Update the pipeline stage if the opportunity changed.
- Assign the next action and set a reminder.
- Save relevant product or proposal details with the lead.
At the daily review
- Check follow-ups due today and overdue items.
- Find active leads without a next action or owner.
- Replan missed actions with a reason.
- Keep closed opportunities separate from active sales work.
A useful lead note, in four lines.
- Customer need
- What is the customer trying to do?
- Outcome
- What was agreed or left open?
- Next action
- What exactly happens next?
- Owner and date
- Who will do it, and when?
Illustrative example: Customer requested a comparison of two options. Sales representative to send the agreed details and call on the date agreed with the customer.
